Hi -I wanted to make sure you knew about an upcoming symposium on AAC, specifically language-based page sets.
On Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23rd,the two-day course coordinated by DynaVox but actually hosted by Easter Seals DuPage, will take place at the Aramark Center in Downers Grove, IL -a 20 minute drive from O'Hare airport.
This is truly a unique opportunity to hear first-hand, from the authors of language-based page sets that can be loaded onto a Dynavox device. (Bruno, Elder, and Inman!!!)
Why is Gateway a better option? Which version? How do I know my child is ready to progress to another version? Why are language page sets preferred to customized pages?
How can using a language-based page set support efficient and independent communication?
How do language-based page sets differ from prestored phrases and sentences?
The speakers are *very* skilled. The location is centrally located. The price is so reasonable. The information about language is absolutely important. All that's missing is you.
For a flyer with the specifics follow this link: aac.pdf

Help me spread the word. This is indeed a unique and not-too-be-missed learning experience.
Thanks and hope to see you there!
Pam Harris
