I wanted to let everyone know about a website that has been launched as
a resource for educators and others working with students who use assistive
technology. The Maryland Assistive Technology Network's new site, MATNOnline
http://www.matnonline.com is a project
from John Hopkins University's Center for Technology in Education (CTE).
Under the leadership of Jeanne Dwyer, the Coordinator of Assisitve Technology
for CTE, MATNOnline was developed through a partnership of the Maryland
State Department of Education and CTE with funding from the U.S. Department
of Education, IDEA Part B/C.
MATNONline has a wealth of resources on AT from Consideration through Implementation
and Data Collection, efficient summaries of a variety of articles on AT
(written by QIAT's very own Penny Reed!), video interviews with AT experts
including Penny Reed and Kelly Fonner, and the MATNOnline Wiki http://matnonline.pbwiki.com/,
which is in part a place to house UDL lesson plans and curriculum materials.
It also has a variety of How To's for AT products and software (Boardmaker,
Intellitools Classroom Suite).
Even if you are not from Maryland, we would love your interactions on the
wiki, so please visit MATNOnline and take a look!
