Easter Seals
Congress is now debating significant budget cuts, including reducing Medicaid
benefits, which will affect people with disabilities. Tens of thousands
of Easter Seals clients rely on Medicaid for their health services and long-term
care needs. A vote on legislation is expected as early as next week.
To fight these budget cuts, Easter Seals is organizing a Virtual Capitol
Hill Day on Monday, October 17th and Tuesday, October 18th.
During this 48 hour period, we are asking Easter Seals supporters to contact
your Representatives and Senators in Washington, DC. Our goal is to generate
thousands of emails and phone calls to send a clear message to Congress:
Protect the Medicaid program and oppose any reduction in benefits.
Thanks to the participation of advocates like you, we had great success
earlier this year in significantly reducing the amount of cuts that Congress
was planning to make in programs affecting people with disabilities.
Stand again with Easter Seals on October 17th & 18th to protect Medicaid
and the dignity and independence of people with disabilities.
