Elon Musk asks if Twitter HQ should be turned into a homeless shelter

The latest board member of Twitter Inc’s TWTR, Elon Musk, questioned users about converting the platform’s headquarters into a shelter for the homeless.

What happened: The CEO of Tesla Inc TSLA posted a Twitter poll on Saturday suggesting that Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco would be converted into a shelter for the homeless “because nobody shows up anyway.”

At the time of writing, 91% of the 172,000 people who voted were in favor of Musk’s proposal.

In another tweet earlier in the day, Musk wondered if Twitter was “dying”, saying that most of the platform’s top accounts rarely post content.

One user quickly shared a chart showing the platform’s growing user base over the years. According to the shared data, the number of Twitter users in 2021 was close to 400 million.

According to Musk, Twitter’s user base consists of a significant number of “crypto scam accounts” that appear in everyone’s feed as real people.

Several members of the crypto community, including Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao and Dogecoin DOGE/USD co-creator Billy Markus, have been calling for someone to take charge of solving the cryptocurrency scam problem.
