Hybrid work continues indefinitely

A survey found that 66% of business leaders are considering restructuring office spaces to accommodate a more dispersed, hybrid workforce. It appears that hybrid works will continue indefinitely.

Your workflows need to move with the times. Hopefully COVID will go down, but hybrid work is rising and will be around for a long time to come.

With the management of personnel in different locations worldwide, there is an urgent need to replace inefficient procedures with easy-to-use digital workflows so that employees can choose their working conditions differently. The shift to digital workflows is being driven by several phenomena, including increased virtual collaboration.

ServiceNow’s Chief Innovation Officer, led by Nerys Mutlow, an evangelist, describes the current state of affairs as “a massive battle for talent.” In contrast, if your procedures are excessively office-bound, your hybrid workers will have a hard time getting their work done — and you’ll be competing with another company that allows people to work on the devices of their choice.

Hybrid . foreclosure complications

The employee experience can be disconnected and unclear in the absence of digital processes connecting a company. In other words, the hybrid option is missing. For example, employees from one department may be asked to send an email to have a question answered or fill out a form in another department. Yet another option would be to depend on a support desk or a spreadsheet. But according to Mutlow, these compartmentalized, inefficient procedures don’t fit a dispersed workforce because they’re inadequate.

Inadequate work procedures cause discrepancies and make it challenging to clearly understand potential hazards and bottlenecks. In addition, manual techniques can force employees to focus on the wrong kinds of activities. For example, according to Mutlow, after a salesperson acquires a new customer, the best use of their time is nurturing that connection and closing a new sale with that customer.

Entering data into a customer relationship management system can create a backlog and companies should consider that the sales team should do something else. Instead, we need to make it as easy as possible for people, Mutlow explains.

Using new technology in hybrid to find your way

Integration with the technology your business now depends on should run smoothly across all platforms. They must be available from any device an employee chooses to use. Leadership must tailor messages to the specific requirements of each employee. According to Mutlow, this is how you give employees the tools they need to manage their workload, prioritize activities and improve processes, no matter where they are or where they work.

Better technology and features increase productivity and give managers a better understanding of their hybrid/remote employees and how they do their jobs. Guy Kurlandski, chief evangelist officer, likens managers of post-pandemic teams to flying an airplane at night in the rain when the weather is bad.

If you have the right gear, it doesn’t matter what the weather is outside – you will reach your goal in one piece. Likewise, when you provide your team with the best software, tools and technology, you are on your way to greater excellence in your workforce.

Keep your relevance

The normalization of remote and hybrid work is associated with many other organizational changes taking place. For example, many companies are shifting from a project-oriented strategy to a product-oriented strategy. The latter can provide more effective customer service and create connections with them, but it requires a different approach.

In reality, being product-oriented means building multi-functional teams that are structured around customer and employee journeys, among other things. That’s why you need the kind of digital technologies that connect people and make collaboration easy, especially in a hybrid situation.

Employees must be able to devote their time to mission-critical activities and companies must be able to remain relevant in more uncertain markets, Mutlow said. As workplaces continue to evolve, workflows must keep pace. Right now we need to be more inventive than ever before.

Repeat your business processes but learn to embrace the hybrid model

During the pandemic, many companies relied on digital strategies to lay the groundwork for future expansion, allowing them to grow rapidly thanks to easily accessible methods.

Any business can use the same hybrid benefits if they know where to look, and an abundance of information is shared to help companies adapt to new changes in technology and the hybrid nature of work.


Several companies have indicated that they will insist that their employees come back to the office. Unfortunately, this could be a definite mistake as it seems that COVID continues to rear its ugly head. The best business advice we currently give such companies is that they should prepare for all eventualities.

Companies cannot plan for every economic situation, but right now the economic situation includes the possibility that hybrid will not be a choice in the future. Therefore, we can prepare by being hybrid ready and letting employees make some choices that will give them a work-life balance.

It’s time to up your game, improve your technology and find workable hybrid solutions. Indeed, hybrid work is likely to continue indefinitely.
