Job Description : The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal (CAMM) is seeking an experienced Assistant Director/Chief Staff Writer to assist the Vice President of Marketing and Communications and departmental staff in implementing marketing and communication initiatives in support of event marketing promotions; developing and strategizing social media content; writing and editing of magazine feature articles; editing and writing website content; etc., to promote and increase awareness of CAMM programs and events as it relates to devotion to Mary and her Miraculous Medal. The incumbent’s job responsibilities would be: Serve as chief staff writer and assistant editor/proofreader of marketing promotional materials for events; gift shop promotions; advancement initiatives; retreats/spiritual events, retreats and educational programs [Beyond Sunday]; and other supporting Shrine of the Miraculous Medal [CAMM] initiatives as assigned Write feature articles for communications vehicles including biannual magazine; press releases; monthly e-newsletter; and advancement initiatives and collateral materials Write content and develop strategy for social media [Facebook, Instagram] postings for Shrine/CAMM events, gift shop promotions, advancement, pilgrimage and retreat programs, etc. including assistance in compiling social media calendar Develop strategy and project manage marketing of programs, events and initiatives for CAMM Compile and disseminate information for monthly e-newsletter and work with digital video manager in crafting script and editorial direction for newsletter videos Draft scripts to support leadership speakers/presenters for special events, speaker series, virtual communications and Institutional Advancement (direct mail) events Draft website content to build relevance of audience and purpose for engagement, awareness building, participation, donation, registration and product purchasing Provide proofreading support for Institutional Advancement direct mailings and other initiatives as assigned The knowledge and skills required for this position are: Be a practicing Catholic or have knowledge and understanding of the Blessed Mother and Catholic Church teaching Expertise in Social Media development and production: Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram Experience designing and creating communications materials in Constant Contact templates Creative Suite skills a plus Excellent oral and written communication skills, including expert knowledge of English grammar and usage. Highly skilled in correct punctuation and spelling. Computer and internet skills a plus Excellent organizational skills Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and learn programs quickly Project management skills a plus Ability to work independently and collaboratively This is a full-time salaried position with excellent benefits. A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience is required. Applicants should have 3 to 5 years’ experience in Communications and Marketing.
