Job Description : *** TO APPLY, VISIT: JOB DUTIESUniversity Communications and Marketing (UComm) is the central communications, marketing and creative agency for NC State University. It provides the campus community with professional communications leadership, strategy, services and support to ensure successful, on-brand, targeted, collaborative communications. As a part of University Advancement, it builds positive relationships between NC State University and its many constituents through strategic internal and external communications that convey the university’s brand identity.The assistant director of marketing content helps to create and oversee content for NC State that serves the university’s communications goals and strategic planning. Through collaboration with other creative personnel — both within UComm and across campus — this position is responsible for planning, writing, editing and reviewing best-in-class content that aligns with the NC State brand and engages a wide variety of audiences. The assistant director also helps to shape the university’s overarching content strategy and supervises and mentors three other writers on the marketing content team.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSStrong interpersonal communication skillsStrong writing skills and deep knowledge of English grammar, composition and styleExperience with WordPress or other web content management systems, the Adobe Creative Suite and other tools used in the creation of digital contentExperience mentoring other professionals and sharing best practicesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in digital marketing, advertising, communications or other relevant fieldsAt least three to five years’ experience planning, writing and creating marketing content for large organizationsAt least two years’ experience reviewing or supervising the work of other writers or creative professionalsHigher education experienceCreative agency experienceAA/EEONC State University is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
