What You’ll Do You’ll be the lead Content Strategist on the Physical Retail team. This group is laying the foundation for Wayfair’s entry into physical retail, and working to provide new and existing customers with a tangible and elevated way to experience our brand that can seamlessly bridge the offline and online experience. We believe our success online should be complemented with a fantastic store experience, and we are assembling the team now to make that happen. This is a greenfield opportunity for you to develop the content strategy that will help us quickly scale into multiple locations. A strong candidate will relish the opportunity to jump into a highly visible workstream that drives significant impact. You are an empathetic people manager who is skilled in content strategy. You will advocate for our end users as you partner with stakeholders and business leaders across Wayfair to identify opportunities and deliver meaningful outcomes. You will leverage your experience to create a solid foundation for a quickly growing team, and will mentor other team members on best practices. You have a working knowledge of writing for a global audience, and best practices for localization and translation. You are customer-centered, and love turning quantitative and qualitative findings into insights and strategy to drive product priorities. This role will be an essential partner with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to identify opportunities and execute solutions. As an early member of our team, you will have a huge impact on our vision. This position will start as an individual contributor role and evolve into management as the team grows. Your Responsibilities Leverage content strategy principles to deliver best-in-class customer and associate experiences. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and user researchers to execute design concepts that deliver on brand goals, business goals, and are technically feasible to implement. Deliver results through lean processes and scalable content strategy methods. Advise on content strategy and localization best practices. Demonstrate strong management and communication skills. Support the development of team members through dedicated mentorship, or less formal coaching and advice. Thrive in an ambiguous startup environment What You’ll Need 10+ years of Content experience, including content development, information architecture, or knowledge management. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field. Interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of content management systems and processes. Strong understanding of localization/translation tools and processes. Fluency in written US English. Ability to be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a global team environment. Experience mentoring or managing junior employees.
