Understand the business needs and consumer needs at every step of the funnel. Look at today’s content and structure, marry that up with the new needs of business and customer, so you can start to make a plan of content This content manager will create content strategy deliverables (content audits, gap analyses, taxonomies, metadata frameworks, style guides, content migration plans, etc.) across the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with the Information Architect as well as people from our Creative, Strategy and Client Technology groups to define the content needs of web sites and digital applications. Here’s what you’ll do: Work with clients to understand business goals and objectives as well as user needs, then create a content plan around them Develop hierarchy of messaging and information architecture based on content plan Outline full list of pages and further define content for each page and site section Identify content sources and new content needs Work with designers, developers, and client to recommend best use of website components to convey content messaging Work with developers to create appropriate taxonomies and frameworks for grouping and tagging content Manage the gathering, assembly, creation, and routing of content between clients, account, content, and SEO teams Set guidelines for editorial tone, style and voice of content Ensure content stays on strategy, is appropriate for the digital medium, and is in line with expectations established with the design and development teams Must be well organized and able to work with diverse teams and clients. Here’s what you’ll need: Demonstrated ability to lead content strategy across the entire web development process Thorough understanding of how to communicate effectively in a digital environment Experience with content management systems, digital asset management and SEO best practices Expert level attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions High tolerance for ambiguity matched only by your desire to organize it Here’s what would be super cool: 5+ years experience in creating/writing content for Web or other digital media Degree in related field, such as English, journalism, technical writing, or library science Bonus points for knowledge of UX, UI, ADA and basic web development best practices.
