The Content Marketing Manager will communicate with leadership, marketing team members, and customers to develop well-researched and accurate content for multiple platforms including email & social media campaigns, webinars, website, brand messaging, reports, video, case studies, e-books, white papers, blogs, articles, and more. An understanding of how technology helps solve business challenges along with excellent researching, organizing, writing, and editing skills are essential to the success of this role. As part of a small team of writers, the Content Marketing Manager will need to take initiative, solve challenges creatively, and edit copy from others to improve readability and deliver a powerful message. The Content Marketing Manager must be a passionate learner since they are responsible for writing about a variety of topics. The essential functions of the position are: Campaigns: In partnership with demand generation and product marketing teams, brainstorming and developing campaign plans and crafting content that engages the audience Webinars: Crafting solution-focused presentation and promotional materials Website: Developing SEO-ready solution messaging, editing and updating existing content. Experience researching and writing for SEO Brand messaging: Developing flyer, brochure, and targeted advertising content Case studies, white papers, and e-books: Drafting compelling stories based on conversations with clients, product experts, manufacturers, and sales team members Blogs & articles: Developing original blog and article content after researching and organizing industry facts and trends Reports: Reviewing and analyzing survey and industry data with subject matter experts, and drafting reports demonstrating key industry statistics and trends Video: Creating video scripts and outlines, and partnering with designers and subject matter experts to brainstorm compelling visuals Researching markets and industries to compare and create original content Learning about complex finance operations and creating content that provides meaningful, valuable, and easy-to-consume solutions. This content must create a desire for customers or prospects to learn more about the solution with the primary goal to generate a sales lead. Collaborating and brainstorming with sales and marketing team members to develop and clarify new ideas and strategies into meaningful content. Creating original content that aligns with different stages of the buyers’ journey. Gleaning key points from technical, training, or research documents to produce new or derivative marketing materials. Mastery of this skill is critical, as is having the confidence and patience to heavily rewrite existing content when needed. A positive attitude and desire to collaborate to produce the best possible content is crucial to success in this role; pride in individual authorship is detrimental. We work together as a team to write, re-write, and edit compelling messages by building on one another’s ideas and strengths. Producing quality content in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment. Secondary functions: Maintaining a favorable working relationship with all employees and managers to promote a cooperative working environment, positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement. Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the following areas is highly desired: Content Development, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills Minimum four years writing and copy-editing experience Must be able to write content optimized for SEO Experience with project management systems and strong understanding of content workflows Proficient in AP Style Experience conducting interviews to produce written, audio/podcast, and video features preferred. Experience using computer systems, including MS Office Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent.
