|Job Description :||The Army Historical Foundation, Marketing & Communications DepartmentTITLE: Content SpecialistAbout The OrganizationThe Army Historical Foundation (AHF) was established in 1983 as a member-based charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help raise funds to build the National Museum of the U.S. Army (NMUSA) and also to manage revenue generation operations in the Museum facility once open. The Foundation’s mission is to educate current and future Americans to fully appreciate generations of American soldiers’ sacrifices to safeguard this nation’s freedoms. Our funding helps to acquire and conserve Army historical art and artifacts, support Army history educational programs, research and publish historical materials on the American Soldier, and provide support and counsel to private and governmental organizations committed to the same goals.THE ROLEThe Army Historical Foundation is seeking a Content Specialist to join the Marketing and Communications team in support of The National Museum of the United States Army as its supporting nonprofit entity. Use your writing ability and content strategies to educate and drive awareness to the Foundation’s mission and Museum’s offerings. You will develop meaningful content in close collaboration with Foundation and Museum professionals to include educators, program specialists, and event coordinators, to name a few. A key part of the position is diving into visitor engagement strategies with tourism sales across various target markets. The Content Specialist will play a key role in building local, regional, and global awareness about AHF and the National Army Museum.This job is a civilian position and does not require military service (including commission and enlistment).IN THIS POSITION, YOU WILLBe an advocate for The Army Historical Foundation and the National Museum of the United States Army through written communications and impactful creative concepts.Research destination marketing topics and explore new ideas to form thought leader content targeting specific user groups.Develop and manage both internal and external communication calendars in coordination with active Foundation PR Agency and Museum partner stakeholders.Provide day to day on site support for marketing content during Museum hours for easy capture for marketing and social media content.Work as primary traffic person with AHF/ Museum Destination Marketing Organizations and management of related partner portals.Offer direction and coordination for (Museum) on site media and assist with photography and video assets creation.Write and edit engaging website content, blog posts, articles, and scripts.Support social media channels for Twitter & LinkedIn postings in conjunction with larger agency management of Facebook and Instagram.Influence and boost AHF’s social media following through new content creation, effectively leveraging platforms in coordination with creative agency digital strategies.Generate creative ideas for messaging, branding, and promotional efforts.Assist with a variety of marketing campaign efforts across various mediums.Help plan and support virtual, physical events, conferences, and tradeshows as needed.EXPERIENCEThis position requires 3+ years in content marketing or related communications experience. Must have excellent writing skills and proven communications strategies while being a self-starter who takes ownership of multiple projects and meets deadlines. Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
