About the Role: Are you ready to join one of the world’s most recognizable brands? Dummies has been delivering serious information, not so seriously for the past 30 years. The Content Specialist will be responsible for curating and ideating content and marketing materials for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok that drives engagement and creates a tone of voice for the brand on each platform. As the Content Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing the social media strategy including developing and curating content for our digital properties as well as managing social media channels focused on engagement. We are looking for a person who is a brand builder with a passion for all social media platforms. Ideally this person will be a natural at digital story telling. This Content Specialist will report to the Digital Marketing Manager and will be expected to be deeply immersed in cultural trends and experiences inspired by cross-functional collaboration. The Content Specialist deems themselves a lifelong learner who is inquisitive and knowledgeable across multiple topics. This person will ensure that s/he collaborates with various Wiley stakeholders to understand hot topics/trends and upcoming book titles that can be leveraged to build traffic and engagement. This role will additionally use data to continuously optimize social content on the site and to make content/marketing decisions in collaboration with marketing and sales. How you will make an impact: Digital Content Production and Management: Implement an integrated online content strategy across media platforms, including website and social media Curate high-quality, author-led content and digital campaigns from upcoming and previous book releases to engage and support our communication goals Provide support to the Digital Marketing Manager across PR, Media, Amazon projects Work cross-functionally to implement email strategy and weekly newsletters Social Media Management: Curate and edit appropriate content to share across social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn) to increase engagement and reach Identify emerging areas of interest (e.g. new technologies, trends) and develop tactics for connecting them back to Dummies in the social media space Monitor social content (tweets, videos, blog posts, etc.) to identify potential story ideas, trends, sentiment, and evolving hot button issues, etc. Liaise with authors for social media partnerships and collaboration Analytics and Research: Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to set KPIs for web content, use metrics to evaluate effectiveness in meeting our goals, and adjust as needed to continually improve performance Monitor and evaluate social media activity daily, providing monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Communications and Marketing team and to senior leadership What we look for: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, preferably in Communications, English, Marketing, or other related discipline 2-4 years of experience developing, writing, producing content for the web and/or social media Detail-oriented with superior written and verbal communications skills Strong visual communicator with an understanding of how to present information, working within an established brand Ability to create social media content Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and still meet expected deadlines Experience with a variety of software programs and applications including Microsoft Office suite and basic Photoshop skills, including cropping, and resizing images Self-starter with an ability to initiate projects and execute from start to finish About Wiley: Enabling Discovery, Powering Education, Shaping Workforces.
