|Job Description :||Overview: Under the direction of the Webmaster IV/Web Technologies Manager, this position supports the strategic goals of the institution by researching and writing engaging and dynamic web content for various institutional departments for EVMS websites. This position utilizes industry best practice techniques for web writing and Search Engine Optimization. This position ensures web content adheres to our high standards for accuracy, message consistency and usability. **Please include at least 3 writing samples you have done for web sites. This may be accomplished by providing a link to an active web page. These links may be in your resume or you can upload a separate document. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough discovery of department content requirements utilizing interviews, current content review and institutional knowledge. Synthesize, write and present information on EVMS website according to institutionally supported content strategy in a clear and compelling manner for the school’s target audiences. Work under the direction of the Webmaster IV/Web Technologies Manager to identify and prioritize areas of the EVMS website which require content modifications or creation. Utilize industry best practice techniques for Search Engine Optimization of website. Proficiency using content management systems. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate webpages are completed within agreed upon framework and on schedule. Maintain and train others in the use of our enterprise-level content management system. Answer trouble tickets received as web content requests are submitted by departments. Assist decentralized content providers across campus to ensure timely routine updates to content. Update institution-level web content including news, calendar of events, and main landing pages. Edit and proofread web content. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree Marketing & Communications, Journalism, or English or demonstrated equivalent education and experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience conducting interviews and research, synthesizing vast amounts of information into more manageable pieces of information and writing web content. Minimum of 1 year experience working with an enterprise-level content management system to create webpages. Basic knowledge of HTML. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including: Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Some experience working with Adobe Photoshop or other photo editing software. **Please include at least 3 writing samples you have done for web sites.
