|Job Description :||Location: Chicago, IL Job Terms: Temporary Start date: 02/21/2022 Posted By: Beverly Ross Date: 02/03/2022 Job Description: Job Description: Our Chicago-based client is looking to add a Content Strategist to their growing team. You will work alongside product managers, researchers and designers to determine the best way to structure and produce content to meet the user needs while achieving business goals. You will be collaborating on a daily basis, to structure, design and write content, but also to ensure the appropriate stakeholders are happy with your output. What you do: Craft the copy inside the product, on each screen in each user flow (titles, subtitles, menus, popups, toasts, notifications, forms, empty states, error messages, and the like) and in our product help & documentation (onboarding, tips, user guides, etc). Write transactional copy and other touch points in the user flows. Work with product managers to understand the project specs, and the designer to make it fit. Strategize how in-product copy reflects the brand’s position in the market. Work closely with Marketing to ensure a consistent voice across the entire user journey, while constantly adjusting that voice as the user base grows and changes. Create & maintain UX writing style guides that the entire team adheres to. What you know: First and foremost is an excellent writer. Expert on the language they write in — in grammar, in colloquialisms, and they have a huge vocabulary. They keep up-to-date on best practices. They know their style guide by heart. They know the ins and outs of their product and have a solid grasp of the space/industry the product lives in. They know all about their competitors’ copy, and understand business and user goals. They have particularly sharp analytical skills, thinking strategically, and looking at the details within a wider context including where the company is heading and how competitors are shifting across the playing field. May have a technical background; they certainly know how to work with data (how to define the most informative A/B tests, run them, analyze the results, and apply learnings). Required skills and experience: Excellent communication skills and proven copywriting experience Experience in journey mapping and using empathy maps would be preferable Experience of using prototyping tools Experience of attending/running usability tests Experience of working within collaborative teams (with design/research, product & marketing) Potential projects: Owning the platform onboarding, help & documentation (user guides, etc) content. Owning the platform error & validation messaging content. Owning the platform style guide for UX writing and tone of voice. Helping determine platform taxonomy, labeling & naming conventions. Helping with competitive research and user research. Support for documentation (especially for developer-first API and other product integrations), training & demo materials. Support for user-facing product launch materials (i.e. app store content, customer release notes, etc)|
