The Senior Content Strategist will be responsible for working with other disciplines on the team to set overall direction and strategy for any given page, journey or user experience. This individual should be an advocate for our end user and determine their needs and problems and articulate solutions with a strong content point-of-view. The individual will then translate the strategy into a content approach that reflects a cohesive understanding of UX and Visual Design. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, efficiently, and collaboratively across all disciplines. They must be able to think strategically while being willing to roll up their sleeves on the ground. This individual will be communicating with product teams and executives and must be able to present ideas articulately and persuasively to a wide range of audiences. This individual also understands basic principles of UX design in the context of an agile environment. They can easily think in terms of near, mid and far term for any given assignment, with the ability to set rough roadmaps for copywriters that will help them execute on their assignments. They must also be able to direct and provide mentorship to more junior Content Designers and writers to execute on the day to day work. Roles and responsibilities Understand the team’s mission and objectives, and align all work to strategic objectives. Lead the content discovery and assess content from usability, brand, globalization, data, editorial and structural point of view. Effectively incorporate qualitative and quantitative data, company business goals, marketers across all business units. and ibm.com user needs to inform content priorities. Work collaboratively with UX to create wireframes that visually illustrate the information architecture/content strategy Work with and direct junior content staff to execute on day-to-day work Create guidance and best practices for content creators, and other documents communicating content design intent. Intense collaboration on bringing the strategy to life, including collaboration with: Researchers and designers to vet the approach and the strategy. UX and Visual Design to translate the strategy and content into a wireframe and visual design. Taxonomy and SEO teams in developing the content strategy and content model. Ensure consistency of the work with the other team members. Quality test the content model as an IBM.com Design Pattern or in Drupal CMS. Work with research and analytics to thoroughly incorporate qualitative and quantitative input Required Technical and Professional Expertise 3-5 years experience in a UX writing and Content Strategy role, including experience with: Creating a content-led strategy for a given page by understanding current state and desired future state. Creating content models using a set of design systems – defining all content assets from descriptive content, information architecture, nomenclature, taxonomy. Write copy and lead the effort to obtain other assets (e.g. media assets) needed for a given page template. Creating guidance and best practices for content creators. In-depth experience working with business, design, and product teams to bring ideas to life, including juggling any discussions and negotiations that are part of the process. Ability to assess globalization and localization considerations. Ability to work independently and in a fast-pace environment, juggling multiple deliverables simultaneously. Exceptional writing skills and attention to detail. Strong leadership and collaboration skills with a cross-functional team. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise Experience with Drupal, AEM or other CMS preferred.
