|Job Description :||Under the supervision of the Vice President of Mission Advancement, the Content Strategist will help advance the mission of the organization through the creation and delivery of clear and compelling communications and customer experiences. The Content Strategist will proactively develop and execute elements of marketing and communications such as writing for internal and external communications, graphic design, project management, and communication engagement with a goal of increasing member growth, member engagement and retention, fund development, and stellar customer experiences. The Content Strategist will work specifically to develop and execute content strategies that will drive traffic, generate leads for membership and programs, and grow online fundraising presence. The Content Strategist will determine which formats best communicate various types of content, identifying ways to increase brand awareness, and conduct keyword research. The Content Strategist should also be able to analyze user engagement metrics to determine effectiveness of content created. The Content Strategist will strive to meet the highest standards set forth by the YMCA of the USA. This job description represents the major functions of the position, but is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Content Strategist interacts with staff throughout the organization and performs duties necessary for branch and Association success.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Conceptualize, create, and implement materials for a wide variety of programs and services, including, but not limited to flyers, posters, banners, guides, postcards, print and online ads, photography, etc.2. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop innovative ideas; create and write content for our continued storytelling work.3. Develop and executive content strategies that drive traffic, generate leads for membership and programs, and grow online fundraising presence.4. Determine which formats best communicate various types of content, identifying ways to increase brand awareness, and conducting key word research.5. Maintain a cohesive visual identity, maintain Y-USA branding guidelines, and oversee brand standards Association-wide6. Works with outside agencies when needed to coordinate brochures, collateral, and direct mail.7. Support all graphic design needs by working collaboratively with the marketing team.8. Stay abreast of the latest trends in design.9. Develop creative and design best practices.10. Manages media relations responsibilities to include booking TV and radio appointments and writing of press releases for our Association.11. Serves as liaison with news agencies, directing spokespeople on appropriate channels.12. Writes and produces significant communications pieces understanding what audience is to be reached with what message.13. Manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.14. Coordinate environmental signage.15. Maintain an organized, intuitive, and updated marketing section on the public drive.16. Audit and edit all marketing to ensure minimal to no errors in final output.17. Act as key member of the staff team by offering thoughtful input and knowledgeable insight as well as performing all other assignments and responsibilities deemed necessary.18. Use Photoshop, Illustrator, and other software tools to create digital graphics.19. Travel to secondary locations as identified with program objectives.20. Participate in center activities and programming as necessary.21. Maintains equipment by evaluating and installing equipment; developing preventive maintenance programs; calling for repairs; evaluating and implementing upgrades as necessary.QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to handle and meet multiple deadlines and possess strong organizational and project management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, targeting diverse audiences. Good technical understanding and demonstrated ability to learn new tools quickly, while researching and staying up on current development and resource tools. Understanding of search engine optimization and keyword research. Proven copywriting and editing experience; must have excellent spelling and grammatical skills with great attention to details. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor Degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design or related field a plusStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Experience working with and managing outside vendors and agencies.Proven editing and proofreading experience; must have excellent spelling and grammatical skills.Strong aptitude and demonstrated experience with design software, and application tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite and others.Ability to self-prioritize and work independently, and as a member of a team on group tasks.Must possess excellent organizational proficiencies and be extremely detail oriented in a fast changing environment.Benefits include 12% retirement upon eligibility, 403b optional retirement plan, generous PTO plan, and YMCA membership.Resume must include references.Job Type: Full-timePay: $35,000.00 – $45,000.00 per yearEducation:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Work Location: One location|
