Responsibilities Primary Responsibility: Copywriter is responsible for concepting, writing ,and managing creative development and execution for assigned campaigns/projects. He, she, or they, will ensure that all creative materials produced (any media) for a campaign/project support the brand and product strategies. This person should be a creative leader, possess strong team-building skills and work in close partnership with the marketing and creative services department. Develop innovative, effective marketing communications that are strategically sound, across all media platforms that achieve positive business results at the level of advertising agency standards. A portfolio of work is required. Reports to: Director of Creative Services OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THIS POSITION Drives conceptual development for assigned projects to ensure that multiple ideas that support the brand and product strategies can be presented Transforms facts and strategic insights into pithy, compelling ideas that achieve maximum results across all media platforms Must collaborate efficiently with project management teams and production teams to make sure that clear and relevant information about a specific deliverable is received and disseminated to all involved parties to ensure that effective and quality work is delivered on-time, on-budget and on strategy Support video and commercial production through editorial, directorial and producer expertise. Objectives of this Role Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a high-volume workload often requiring short turnaround times Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging Daily and Monthly Responsibilities Interpret creative briefs to develop and produce creative concepts through execution on assigned brands Research and understand the client’s needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials Collaborate with a team of account managers and creative staff from concept development to delivery of final product Present copy concepts and final deliverables to internal team, and to client representative as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrates creativity and innovative thinking Strong communicator and influencer Strong relationship builder Strong communication skills Strong project management skills – deadline driven Strong motivator Excellent problem solver Technical/Functional Competencies Writing experience in all media including direct mail, print, TV, radio, outdoor, web, interactive and more. Experience with social media content a must. Able to lead the team in providing the most effective and efficient creative solutions. Strong computer skills a must (Word, PowerPoint, Adobe suite). Excellent grammar and proofing skills. Experience with marketing and advertising, including the conceptualizing and development of campaigns. Interprets and carries out a plan of action; responds to challenging circumstances; successfully completes projects. Demonstrated ability to disaggregate and analyze problems, to probe facts, identify and question assumptions and analyze issues from different perspectives to inform decision-making processes. Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and a team player who can build consensus across multiple constituencies. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Minimum 4-5 years professional copywriting experience with solid portfolio of work Exceptional writing and research skill Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines Excellent organizational skill and multitasking ability Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro A clear understanding and history of developing brand building ideas that drive business for Fortune 500 companies. Experience writing for film, television, content creation including producing, editing, directing a plus. Must have experience developing integrated campaigns and an understanding of social platforms and web building content.
