We are seeking a writer that is familiar with creating custom content on a variety of topics and has a knack for researching content in both a formal and informal setting to join our team. An ideal applicant would be an individual that has had experience writing in a professional or academic setting, is detail-oriented, eager to learn, has a deep passion for creating and publishing content, and can thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing digital marketing environment.The PositionThis is an in-office position for local candidates only, please.*Please note: This is a professional writing position, some experience writing in a professional or academic setting is beneficial but not required.In this entry-level position, your primary goals will be to research and create custom content for small businesses including blogs, social media posts, and websites as they are contracted through our company. In this position, the overall objective when writing is to effectively internalize the importance, uniqueness, and services that our clients provide their local customers to increase the overall success of their marketing strategy.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesResearch & Write Captivating Content on a Variety of TopicsYou will collaborate with our current digital content writer, as well as our social media marketing manager and digital design team to create blog, social media posts, and website content for small business clients located throughout central Illinois. You will use programs like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and ClickUp to create, upload, and manage assigned content.Additional Job ResponsibilitiesResearch, write, and edit content for custom-built websites using SEO techniques and general grammar/punctuation skills.Create custom Facebook and other social media post content for clients by researching their company to get a general idea of their business.Research, write, and edit content for blog posts (approx. 450-650 words each) on several topics including but not limited to plumbing, HVAC, construction, cleaning, food, insurance, pests, animals, and more!Be able to complete work on or before the due dates & communicate when projects overlap with other job responsibilities.Be able to communicate with our sales representations and clients on writing specifications and additional information needed to complete a project.Independently manage and organize your workload in ClickUp, our project management program, and current work files.Technical Requirements Include: Complete understanding of how to operate and navigate Microsoft Word and other Microsoft programs including Excel.The ability to form complete and grammatically correct sentences with occasional help from word checking systems like Grammarly.Experience writing for an extended time in a professional, academic, or personal setting.
