Job Description STR was acquired in October 2019 as a division of CoStar Group, Inc., the leading provider of commercial real estate information, analytics and online marketplaces. STR is in the process of combining CoStar’s largest and most up-to-date properties database with STR’s global hospitality performance data, to give both real estate and hospitality customers a unique and powerful combined view of their local markets. Main Purpose of Job The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for all elements of the brand copy that underpins STR’s marketing strategy and corporate messaging. The successful candidate will create dynamic original content and update/edit existing content in accordance with STR’s brand voice, tone and style. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve as one of the organization’s subject matter experts on content to ensure consistent and accurate messaging is shared to multiple audiences via engaging and dynamic content. This role will be responsible for the creation of written content for email campaigns and newsletters, website pages, social media campaigns, long-form blog posts and video scripts for STR products and initiatives. This person will also own all content needs for the annual Hotel Data Conference and Global Edition, including attendee marketing emails, prospective sponsorship emails, and social media promotions. Responsibilities: Research, generate and edit a high volume of diverse copy to be used in a variety of public-facing sales and marketing channels, including emails, blogs, websites, multimedia training curriculum, presentations, brochures, social media, etc. Manage content deliverable for multiple audiences (examples: sales copy, educational pieces, customer support messaging). Ensure content is aligned with STR brand standards and corporate culture. Create and implement extensive content plans to market the Hotel Data Conference. Develop pieces specifically focused on SEO – taking keywords into consideration as well as reading level and content length. Identify keywords to use and when during the year based on search volume and trends. Manage a deadline-driven content calendar and execute a global content strategy across multiple channels. Incorporate ideas and direction into written pieces with minimal direction from other staff. Report on the performance of marketing activity to internal stakeholders and contribute to the improvement and internal reporting of marketing performance. Work with team members from other departments and functions in a timely fashion to ensure deadlines are met. Create short- and long-term content calendars based on availability and relevancy of topics. Keep up to date with market and other industry developments. Attend training as required and actively seek to continually enhance understanding of STR products and value proposition. Attend marketing events, team meetings, kick-off meetings and functions as required. Adhere to all STR processes and policies and maintain customer confidentiality. Exceptional, detail-oriented writer who can create original brand copy and update/edit existing copy in accordance with brand voice, tone and style. Ability to focus on the customer, both internal and external, at all times. Ensure the right message is being delivered. Ability to anticipate and respond to client requirements and a genuine desire to exceed expectations at a global level. The position requires someone with flexible work hours due to interaction with global offices. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field from an accredited educational institution. 3-5 years’ experience working in digital content role. A background in Marketing is essential. A background in writing is essential. Experience writing for SEO – taking keywords into consideration as well as reading level and content length. Keyword research – Identifying best keywords to use based on search volume and trends. Familiar with writing for the web, blog posts, product promotions, social, and LinkedIn and Google Ad content. Creating short and long-term content calendars based on availability and relevancy of topics. Excellent use of Microsoft Office applications, proven numeracy and literacy skills. Knowledge of systems such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, Eventbrite, Survey Monkey, social media platforms, CMS platforms, Google Analytics and/or other marketing tools will be beneficial. Preferred Qualifications: Experience within the hospitality industry is desirable but not essential. Consistently focused on delivering an excellent customer-service experience. Capability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. An eye for detail to ensure the release of accurate and timely content often underpinned by hotel performance data. Able to manage a variety of projects to meet a high standard within tight deadlines across multiple time zones. Efficient and effective forward planner of work and projects. Able to create solutions to solve problems and is not afraid to make informed decisions. Ability to focus on the customer, both internal and external, at all times. Ensure the right message is being delivered. Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs.
