Job Description : The Center for Victims of Torture is hiring a Project Manager for Digital Content Creation to be responsible for the creation and management of the New Tactics in Human Rights program’s online content and strategy and also leads the development of digital content expansion projects. The Project Manager also manages the New Tactics in Human Rights website and will collaborate on its redesign as part of an organization-wide redesign of multiple CVT websites. Location: We are open to consider candidates who will work remotely from other locations in the US. We are an international nonprofit dedicated to healing survivors of torture. We offer rehabilitation services to those who have been tortured, train partners around the world who can prevent and treat torture, and advocate for human rights and an end to torture. We are headquartered in Minnesota, and we have US offices in Georgia and DC, as well as offices in Africa and the Middle East. Responsibilities: Create and Manage Online Content and Strategy: Plan, create, and manage engaging content (written, audio, visual, and graphics) across all New Tactics digital platforms in English and Spanish, including the New Tactics website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter. Collaborate with the New Tactics MENA Digital Media Senior Coordinator to revise and update New Tactics’ digital content strategy, guidance, guidelines, and creation processes. Monitor performance and produce reports on analytics across all New Tactics digital platforms. Collaborate on the development, management, and promotion of digital content for other CVT projects and programs in collaboration with project and program staff. Act as the primary liaison between the New Tactics digital team and other CVT departments focused on digital content development and management. Support Website Redesign & Management: Serve as the primary liaison and content director for the New Tactics website throughout the overhaul of all of CVT’s websites (including the New Tactics website). Conduct a content audit of the New Tactics website in collaboration with the New Tactics MENA Digital Media Senior Coordinator. Partner with the Web Project Lead to develop and maintain operational processes which facilitate the creation and publishing of website content. Collaborate with the Web Project Lead to determine and implement best-practices for CVT’s websites, and provide input for web-related decision-making. Manage Digital Expansion: Lead the development of digital content expansion projects (including taking the New Tactics online Tactical Mapping Tool TMT from beta to V1) including identifying areas for expansion and improvement of New Tactics’ digital offerings. Manage all aspects related to the expansion of New Tactics digital content, including managing communications, scope, timeline and budget; facilitating communication among team members – internally and with the vendor; vendor relationships; keeping program leadership updated on progress; analyzing risks; coordinating changes in scope; and developing and implementing plans to market new digital offerings. Provide training and support on new digital tools. Qualifications: Required education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations 3 years of digital project management experience, including projects involving Content Management Systems (CMS), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies 3 years of experience creating engaging online content for a variety of online platforms (e.g. website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) 1 year of online video content creation experience Experience working with outside vendors such as software developers and consulting firms Demonstrated experience administering an organization’s website Demonstrated experience managing projects involving responsive website development, video, apps, and social media Demonstrated experience communicating with diverse audiences using a variety of communications channels (e-newsletters, blogs, social media, funder reports, etc.), and the ability to tailor communications accordingly Preferred education, experience, certificates, licenses or registrations 5 years of digital project management experience 5 years of experience creating online content for a variety of online platforms (e.g. website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) 2+ years of online video content creation experience Experience in a digital agency a plus Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Fluency in Spanish strongly preferred Commitment to or interest in international human rights. Human rights education and experience strongly preferred Creativity with a flair for strong visual elements Proven decision-making capabilities, particularly in navigating complex, competing or conflicting priorities An understanding of usability principles, accessibility, and overall web standards Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks at once within established deadlines Ability to work independently and be a self-starter Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally and ability to work collaboratively within a small team Flexibility to accommodate communication with international partners, including periodic evening, night or early morning calls.
